Dashboards & reporting
One reporting engine, everywhere you look
The report definition and the dashboard widget share one engine. A deep relationship column, a formula, a parameter or a pivot behaves identically in a report, a dashboard widget, a scheduled PDF and a widget on a record page
What you can do
Ask hard questions of your data without asking a developer
Reports traverse relationships as deep as you need, summarise across them and compute formulas. Dashboards turn them into KPIs, charts and pivots that filter each other
Related data to any depth
Reach fields through a chain of relationships with a drill-in picker. Nothing technical to write.
Deep summary columns
Count, sum, average, minimum or maximum across a chain of related records, as a single column.
Formula columns
Arithmetic, comparison, logic and text functions such as if, round and joining text, with an in-app editor and built-in help.
Report parameters
Text, number, date, date range, list and relationship parameters prompted at run time.
Pivot and grouping
Rows, columns and values with live preview, shared with the dashboard pivot widget.
Advanced query mode
For analysts who want to write their own queries, behind a separate permission.
Folders, favourites and permissions
Reports live in folders with per-role permissions and a live match count. Impact analysis shows which reports and dashboards depend on what.
Four widget types
KPI tiles as a value or radial gauge with up to six metrics, charts, tables and pivot tables.
Eight chart types
Line, bar, area, pie, scatter, combo, funnel and heatmap, with conditional formatting rules and value formats.
Dashboard filters and tabs
Six filter control types bound to widgets, remembered per user, across ordered tabs.
Cross-filtering and drill-through
Click a chart point or pivot cell and it becomes a filter on the other widgets. Widgets can opt out.
Performance with guardrails
Results are remembered per viewer only after their access has been checked, and no single widget can slow things down for everyone else.
Scheduled deliveries
Excel, PDF or PNG on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule, to users and roles, with next and last run tracking.
True renders
PDF and PNG exports are captured from the real dashboard with its committed filters, so the artefact matches what a person sees.
Alerts on KPI values
Alongside alerts on workflows, record creation rates and bulk actions, with recipients and silences.
Widgets on record pages
Analytic, table and list widgets embed in record views against the record in view.
How it works
Three steps, no tickets to engineering
1
Build the report
Pick the object, add columns across relationships, filters, formulas and parameters.
2
Visualise it
Drop it onto a dashboard as a KPI, chart, table or pivot. Add filters, tabs and interactions.
3
Share and schedule
Grant access by role, embed widgets on record pages and schedule deliveries in the format each audience wants.
What makes it different
The security model is unusually strict for a reporting layer: each viewer only ever sees results they are allowed to see, every widget has a cost limit, and the advanced query mode is a separate permission.
