How We Work
A partner, not just a platform
Proven Blueprints, shaped around how you work, with one team alongside you from discovery to long after go-live
Volume works differently from most technology providers
You don't pay per user, and we don't hand you software and step back. We start from proven Blueprints, shape them around how you work, and stay with you long after go-live. Our fees are aligned to your outcomes, so we only succeed when you do.
1
Discover & Align
Understanding your business comes first, before any configuration.
A discovery call to understand your goals and current challenges.
Structured workshops with the people who run the process.
Requirements, stakeholder mapping, user journeys and process flows.
Your current process documented, with its constraints, risks and opportunities.
Fewer surprises later, and a solution that fits how you actually work.
2
Build & Prove
We configure your solution from proven building blocks, and prove it with you.
Built on the Volume Platform, starting from the Blueprints that match your processes.
Shaped around your data structures, workflows, dashboards and reporting.
Integrations planned and connected with your existing systems.
An optional proof of concept to support internal decisions and investment approval, without disrupting your current platforms.
A working solution faster, without the cost and risk of a custom build.
3
Go Live & Grow
We stay with you after go-live, not just up to it.
A managed transition into live running, alongside your existing systems where needed.
Hypercare: close support in the first weeks after go-live.
Training and a full handover, so your team owns the platform.
Ongoing support, with new workflows, fields, reports and dashboards added as you need them, by your team or ours.
Your platform keeps evolving as your business does.
A phased, collaborative approach that gets you to the right solution with minimal risk. Teams working alongside each other and every phase ends with your sign-off, so you stay in control of what's built and when
Why it's different
Built around your success, not your headcount
Our fees are tied to the results you get, not the number of people using Volume. That keeps us focused on delivering cost-effective solutions that make a real difference to your operation
No seat licences
You don't pay more because more people use Volume. Bring in your whole team, your partners and your clients without counting logins.
Aligned to your outcomes
Our fees are based on outcomes and transaction volumes, so they scale with your business, and we only succeed when you do.
A proven starting point
We start from Blueprints, which are working processes we've already built, then shape them around your data, workflows and systems.
One team, start to finish
The same Volume team works with you from the first conversation through go-live and beyond, so nothing is lost in a hand-over.
Build it yourself or with us
Make changes yourself in Volume, ask our team, or mix the two. Either way, there's no change-request process and no waiting for a release.
In it for the long term
We stay involved after go-live, helping your platform evolve as your business and your rules change.
Our commercial model
Seatless, so automation saves you money
Traditional seat-based licensing rewards inefficiency: the more people you need, the more you pay. That discourages the very automation that would help you grow. Our model works the other way round
Seat-based licensing
What you pay for
Every user, every month
Outcomes and transaction volumes
When you automate a task
You still pay for the seats
Your costs fall with the work you no longer do by hand
When you grow
Costs rise with headcount
Costs scale with the value you get
FAQ
Common questions
How is pricing worked out?
On outcomes and transaction volumes, not the number of people using Volume. We'll agree a model with you during discovery, based on what you're trying to achieve.
How long does it take to go live?
Discovery usually takes one to two weeks, and building and proving your solution three to six weeks. We'll confirm a timeline once we understand your requirements.
Can we start with a proof of concept?
Yes. A proof of concept lets you validate the solution and show its value to senior stakeholders without disrupting your existing platforms, and helps define the ongoing partnership.
Do we need technical skills on our side?
No. We do the configuration with you. If your team wants to make changes themselves, we'll train them, and they can do it through configuration rather than code.
Can Volume run alongside our existing systems?
Yes. Volume connects to your existing systems and can run alongside them, so you can move processes across at your own pace.
What happens after go-live?
You get hypercare in the first weeks, training and a full handover, then ongoing support. New workflows, fields, reports and dashboards can be added whenever you need them, by your team or ours.
Who needs to be involved from our side?
The people who own and run the process, someone who can make decisions on scope, and anyone responsible for the systems Volume will connect to. We'll agree who's needed at each stage.

Fits your process
You change to fit the software
Often solves only part of the problem, so other systems fill the gaps.
In places, never as a whole
No single view of data or process. Changes and incidents span several vendors.
Yes, as it was first specified
Scope is fixed up front. Gaps found later become chargeable change requests.
Yes, configured to how you work
Changes are made by configuring, not coding, so new requirements are absorbed as they emerge.
Time to go live
Weeks, plus the workarounds
Rigid systems are slow to adapt to your specific needs.
Quick per tool, slow to join up
Training, roll-out and service transition co-ordinated across every system.
Many months
Detailed requirements must be agreed before any build begins.
Weeks, starting from a proven Blueprint
Runs alongside your existing systems, so you move processes across at your own pace.
When the rules change
Wait for the vendor’s roadmap
Your change joins the vendor’s release queue.
Update every tool it touches
More testing, more co-ordination, more risk.
A new development project
Formal change request, estimate, costing and sign-off.
Change the configuration
No quarterly release cycle and no change-request process. Do it yourself or ask us, often the same day.
Risk of change
Upgrades on the vendor’s timetable
Forced updates can change how your process works.
One change can break another tool
Integrations fail quietly between systems.
Every release is a deployment risk
Testing and roll-back depend on the supplier.
Test safely before going live
Test runs cannot change data, sandboxes cannot send, and versions can be rolled back.
One record of every case
Until spreadsheets grow around it
Limits are hit early and manual processes fill the gaps.
Split across tools
Gaps between systems are filled with manual work.
Yes
Only for what was in the original scope.
Yes, every case in one place
Flexible workflows and data model fit every process, so nothing is pushed offline.
Automation and AI
What the vendor ships
Limited to the vendor’s features and timetable.
Bolted on, tool by tool
Different AI in each tool, with no joined-up view.
Only what you pay to build
Every AI feature is a separate project.
Built in: AI reads and drafts, people approve
Use your own AI accounts or ours, with full visibility of what goes in, what happens and what comes out.
Audit trail and regulatory evidence
Inside the core system only
Activity in other tools goes unrecorded.
Gaps at every handoff
Evidence is scattered across systems.
Only if it was built in
Audit is a feature you must specify and pay for.
Every action on the record
Every user action and workflow step is logged and reportable, supporting Consumer Duty oversight.
Security and data protection
The vendor’s standard
You take the controls and hosting you are given.
Different in every tool
Each tool has its own controls and data location.
Only as good as the build
Depends on the supplier’s practices.
Cyber Essentials Plus, committed to ISO 27001
UK hosted, a separate encrypted database per customer and field-level encryption.
Who does the work
You, plus support tickets
Changes depend on your team’s time and skills.
You, across several suppliers
Each supplier owns only their part.
A supplier you depend on
Knowledge sits with the build team.
